New here?

Whether you are new to Tunbridge Wells, new or returning to church, or new to the Christian faith we hope the information below will answer your questions.

What is Church?

Church is a group of people not a building. We are a Christian church that believes in Jesus Christ and the unchanging message of the Bible. We believe the good news of the Christian message is relevant today and has the power to change us for the better.

Who are we?

We are a church made up of people all ages and many nationalities. People of all church backgrounds and none. If you are a committed Christian who has attended church all your life or just have lots of questions, St Peter's may well be the place for you.

Where and when does the Church meet?

We meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am

Currently our meeting can be followed online via Zoom if you are unable or would prefer not to attend physically, for a link to join us .

What can I expect when I visit Church?

You can expect a warm welcome as you enter the building, someone will be there to direct you and answer your concerns.

We don't believe that God's good news should be hidden behind unnecessary church traditions and so, although you may recognise familiar prayers, the service is clear and accessible to all. Most services last about an hour.

What if my kids are noisy, are there groups for children?

We understand children will be restless or make a noise. You may prefer to use the creche in the foyer for children and babies aged 0-3.
Normally the children start together with adults in church for the first 15 minutes and then they go out to children's groups which meet in the halls, except for the monthly Church Family Service when they stay in for the whole service.

How will I know what to do?

The service is projected on to a screen at the front of the church. For those that prefer there is also a printed order of service with all that you need on it.

Will I be expected to join in?

Nothing will be expected of you. The person leading the service will clearly indicate when you can join in, please feel free to join in with the words of hymns and prayers or not. Please remain seated if you want or stand when invited by the service leader.

Is there disabled access?

There are steps up to the main door at the front of church, off Bayhall Road. For level access, you can enter the church via St Peter's Street. Wheelchair users will need assistance with the doors.

Is there a hearing loop?

Yes there is, throughout the main seating area.
